Vivekachudamani (Vivekacūḍāmaṇi)
A garland of poetic verses, a glorious work of Sri Adi Sankaracharya, guiding a student of Vedanta towards correct understanding of the nature of the subjective and objective aspects of the human experience. The purpose of the work is to sharpen the faculty of the student to distinguish and classify the subtle and gross aspects of the experience according to their natural properties. This faculty, known in Sanskrit as viveka, enables the student of Vedanta to separate the nitya (permanent, eternal), consciously and continuously, from anitya (ephemeral), and come to experience one’s divine nature, the Supreme Self, in full glory.
Swami Dheerananda conducts Vivekachudamani class every Thursday as he expounds the wisdom of ‘The Crest-Jewel of Discrimination’ in his very unique relatable style.
